Overview

Human endocrine system.
This week we will focus on the endocrine system. The endocrine system is the master of the body. In this section you will review the functions of the endocrine system and regulation of hormone secretion. You will classify the types of hormones, their receptors and their proposed mechanisms of action.  Knowing the function of a hormone will assist you in determining the clinical manifestations and understanding the pathological processes when a hormone is secreted in either a hyper- or hypo- state.
