Timecard Instructions
Throughout your practicum experience, you will record the hours you have worked on your practicum and met with your supervisor. Every 100 hours, you will have your supervisor sign a virtual timecard, which you will submit here. Please follow the instructions below to create your timecard, have it signed, and submit it.
Step 1: Create Your Timecard Spreadsheet
- Sign in to your USC Gmail account.
- Open the PM596 Practicum Timecard Template.
- Make a personalized copy of this template by clicking the "File" tab at the top of the spreadsheet window, then selecting "Make a copy..."
- Name your copy in the following format: LastName Firstname Practicum Timecard
- Save it to your Google Drive. (You do not need to select "Share it with the same people" or "Copy comments" in the pop-up window.)
Step 2: Submit and Record Your Hours
- Submit your hours via the timecard link in Moodle as indicated in the upcoming course weeks.
- Each time you submit your hours there, also record them in the Practicum Timecard spreadsheet that you created in Step 1. It is your responsibility to ensure that hours entered in your timecard spreadsheet match hours submitted to the timecard link. To verify your hours submitted to the timecard link, please contact Carolina Lopez, Practicum Coordinator, at lope968@usc.edu.
Step 3: Obtain Supervisor Signature
- In order to have your supervisor sign your timecard, you will use an online signing application called HelloSign. Please follow HelloSign instructions (PDF) or screencast tutorial to learn how to sign up for a free HelloSign account and use it to obtain your supervisor's signature.
Step 4: Submit Signed Timecard in Moodle
- Once you have downloaded and saved your signed timecard, submit it to the designated location in your PM596 course in Moodle. If you are not yet enrolled in PM596, please be sure to save all signed timecards to submit once you have enrolled.
