Subjective Skin Video Transcript

This presentation will review the assessment of the skin from a subjective point of view. As previously mentioned, whenever there is an issue with any of the systems, it is important to identify the seven characteristics. Specific to the skin, you want to make sure you assess for any changes that have occurred over time. It is important to assess for any exposure to any allergens, such as creams, perfume, lotions, chemicals, and environmental allergens. New medications can cause skin changes, so the healthcare provider should ask the patients if they started any new medication. A sexual history is important as some sexually transmitted infections present with dermatological changes.
