Week 3 Lesson 1 Podcast

Welcome to Week 3, Lesson 1. In this module I'd like to have you get much more analytical than you have been in the past in terms of drilling down on a case study on Herman Miller, cradle to cradle design, and Herman Miller. In this case you will be learning how Herman Miller was designing a new chair, called the mirror chair, and how it identified sustainability as one of its criteria for developing this new product and trying to be "sustainable from its very beginning."

So in this, in this assignment and the readings I'd like you to really put your analytical hat on and see how you would react if you were working in this company and putting yourself in the CEO position of saying how would you make a decision on choosing materials to put into the mirror chair. So I want you to read the case, analyze the case, and actually make some recommendations following standard business school case study analysis.

So, good luck. I think this case will allow you to show your analytical side as well as your descriptive side in coming up with a set of recommendations.

Thank you.
