Introduction
As a future nurse practitioner, you will need to critically think through various pathways to help your patients gain peace, comfort, and well-being through a holistic and self-care plan.
The following scenario will take you through a visit for a physical exam at a community health center. Use the information provided, along with your acquired knowledge from course materials and clinic experience, to complete the first part of the case scenario for this week. You will be prompted to provide written responses to some questions and have opportunities to choose various alternative answers to work through the case scenario. At the end, you will be prompted to save your summary and to submit it for this week’s assignment.
Selecting the correct answers will provide additional choices to advance you through the scenario. Choosing an incorrect answer will give you the opportunity to learn by redirecting you to another path as you continue working through the case study. The ultimate goal of the branching case scenario is to provide you with an interactive method of critical thinking needed to manage the needs of a patient. Please note that, this week, you will be working on the first part of the holistic and self-care case. In a later week, you will have the opportunity to work through the second part of the case.
